Operation: Unity Relief

Community Action Partnership National Office Coordinates Operation: Unity Relief

Help Total Community Action Rebuild New Orleans.
Displaced citizens of New Orleans should complete this survey and return it to TCA (New Orleans' Community Action Agency). City planners need to know the intentions and needs of evacuees.

Community Action Partnership's National Office is coordinating an effort to provide ongoing relief to victims of the recent hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. Responding to these disasters, Community Action Agencies have mobilized a huge, sustained effort throughout Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. The Community Action network is forwarding desperately needed contributions and supplies to the area to help those most in need through these difficult times. The devastation is so widespread that tremendous long lasting needs will remain even as the aftermath of these storms fades from the national news. We urgently appeal to everyone to support Community Action as we help others help themselves through our Operation: Unity Relief campaign.

In the very spirit of "Helping People and Changing Lives," the Community Action network has exhibited a tremendous outpouring of caring and generosity, mobilizing CAAs and individuals to contribute to a sustained relief effort. Click here for some details of Community Action Agency efforts.

State Community Action Agency Associations and CAAs in the affected region face long months and years of recovery, relocation, and rebuilding. Millions upon millions of lives have been affected and forever changed by these disasters. As community-based organizations, CAAs in the affected areas have suffered the same devastation as the rest of their communities, with facilities damaged or destroyed, employees and operations uprooted, and programs that must be rebuilt. The Community Action Partnership National Office and the Community Action network are doing everything possible to assist affected CAAs and states in this massive, long-term effort.

Operation: Unity Relief is accepting monetary donations through the Community Action Partnership National Office, 100 percent of all donations will be directly applied to the urgent needs of Community Action Agencies and their communities. In addition to one-time monetary contributions, you may also select our planned giving option to contribute a designated amount each month. You may direct your donations to a particular state or to our general Operation: Unity Relief fund, which is allocated to the areas of greatest need. Information on contributing goods and supplies is provided below.
